To celebrate Labour Day, starting May 1st through June 7th, Casa del Cinema will host the film series “Work in Progress”, with eleven films dedicated to the theme of labour. Ranging from the 1960s to the present day, starting with classics such as Rocco and His Brothers by Luchino Visconti, The Sound of Trumpets (Il posto) by Ermanno Olmi, The Organizer (I compagni) by Mario Monicelli, I Knew Her Well (Io la conoscevo bene) by Antonio Pietrangeli to come in to the present with The Measure of Man (La Loi du Marché) by Stéphane Brizé, Our Life (La nostra vita) by Daniele Luchetti, Two Days One Night (Deux jours, une nuit) by Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, Sorry We Missed You by Ken Loach and Palazzina Laf by Michele Riondino. Finally, two comedies that tell the story of the dramatic reality of the workplace yesterday and today: The Front Page by Billy Wilder and The Good Boss (El buen patrón) by Fernando León de Aranoa.
