From June 12th to 22nd, the film series “On the Road” will feature seven films, following the trajectories of the most iconic journeys on the big screen. The first will be Easy Rider by Dennis Hopper, the emblem of 1970s New Hollywood, to be followed by Viaggio in Italia by Roberto Rossellini, which inaugurated the partnership between the Italian master filmmaker and the young auteurs of the future Nouvelle Vague. Next on the schedule, the public is invited to watch the picaresque journey of Mario Monicelli’s Armata Brancaleone, and the madly intimate journey of La pazza gioia by Paolo Virzì; to follow the tracks of Jack Kerouac and the Beat Generation in On the Road by Walter Salles and rediscover Rocco Papaleo’s debut as a director with Basilicata Coast to Coast. The programme will conclude with Thelma & Louise by Ridley Scott, the thrilling female road movie with Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, which won an Oscar® and a Golden Globe for Best Screenplay.
