Una maestra d’asilo scopre tra I suoi alievi un bambino poeta. Essendo amante di poesia e un po’ poetessa lei stessa, si sente obbligata a salvare dalla banalità questa creatura dall’animo sensibile che rischia di perdersi in un mondo che non ama gli artisti e in cui le persone più sensibili finiscono sempre sconfitte. La missione si trasforma la maestra in una “donna Don Chisciotte” che tenta di salvare il mondo con la poesia, e scuote un bambino pensieroso che non ha mai chiesto di essere salvato.
Il secondo lungometraggio di Nadav Lapid ha girato il mondo aggiudicandosi Il premio della critica al Jerusalem Film Festival 2014, Premio al Miglior Film al Seville European Film Festival 2014, e il grande Premio al Concorso Internazionale Nuovi Talenti al Taipei Film Festival 2015.
A kindergarten teacher discovers one of her young pupils is a gifted poet. Being a poetry-lover and a poetess herself, she feels obliged to save this sensitive soul who doesn’t stand a chance in a world that does not appreciate artists, and where people of a more sensitive nature always end up defeated. This mission turns the teacher into a “female Quixote” trying to save the world with poetry, and it upsets a pensive child who had never asked to be saved.
Nadav Lapid’s second feature film was screened around the world, winning the Critics Prize at the Jerusalem Film Festival 2014, the Best Film Prize at the 2014 Seville European Film Festival and the Grand Prize in the New Talent International Competition at the Taipei Film Festival 2015.
