Le Grand Chef è un film basato sul manhwa di Heo Yeong Man, che racconta la rivalità tra due Chef: Sung-chan e Bong-ju. Rivalità che va avanti sin da quando i due erano bambini. Assisteremo allo scontro tra Sung-chan e Bong-ju per la conquista di un vero e proprio tesoro nazionale: il coltello dello Chef Reale. Film abbastanza “scioccante” sin dai primi minuti, strano da dirsi per un film di cucina, ma è così e il perchè lo capirete voi stessi. Vedremo sfilare piatti favolosi, che vi faranno venire voglia di assaggiarli.
At a press conference, a cooking knife of a special spirit is being presented to the public. The knife belongs to the last Korean royal chef of the Chosun Dynasty who cut his arms with this knife to show his loyalty to the king and the country. The Japanese bureaucrat at the time was deeply moved by his conviction and returned to Japan with this knife. Now, his son has come to Korea to return the precious knife back to someone who really deserves to own it and announces a cooking contest to find the best cook for this knife. Thus the destined match between the grandsons of the two apprentices of the royal chef has begun…

Nato nel 1971 a Seul. È stato assisitente del regista Kang Jae-gyu nei film con successo al botteghino in Corea come The Ginko Bed (1996), Shiri (1998), si è laureato all’Università con cortometraggio Goodbye Seoul Shinpa con cui ha ricevuto il premio “Award of Excellence” al 3rd Shinyoung Media Arts Festival and Special Jury Prize, migliore Sceneggiatura e migliore Colonna Sonora al 10th Korea Original Short Film Festival. Ha debuttato nei lungometraggi con il suo primo film Besame Mucho nel 2011 e il secondo film My Girl and I con gli attori Song Hye-gyo e Cha Tae-hyun.
Born in 1971, Seoul. Jeon was assisitant director in the box office hit films “The Ginko Bed” (1996) and “Shiri” (1998) directed by Kang Je-gyu. His graduate short film “Goodbye Seoul Shinpa” won an Award of Excellence at the 3rd Shinyoung Media Arts Festival and Special July Prize, Best Screenplay and Best Music at the 10th Korea Original Short Film Festival. He debuted with “Besame Mucho” (2001), and his second feature “My Girl and I” starring Song Hye-gyo and Cha Tae-hyun attracted special attention.
