Durante la Dinastia Joseon, la popolazione soffre per lo sfruttamento subito da nobili corrotti. In difesa dei cittadini si erge un gruppo di banditi noti come “Kundo”. Jo-yoon, figlio illegittimo di un nobile, è tanto spietato quanto abile nell’uso della spada; egli incarica Dolmuchi di uccidere la cognata incinta dell’erede legittimo. Il fallimento del compito causa la sua condanna a morte. Salvato dagli uomini di Kundo, si unisce a loro rinascendo come il guerriero Dochi. A causa delle continue ingiustizie sociali, per lui ed il resto dei banditi, è giunto il momento di affrontare Jo-yoon, il nemico più pericoloso.
During Joseon Dynasty the people are suffering because of exploitation by corrupt noblemen. Their only defender is a group of outlaws known as “Kundo”. Jo-yoon, a noble’s illigetimate son, is cruel as much as skilled with sword; he hires Dolmuchi to kill his sister-in-law, pregnant of the legitimate heir. The failure of the task causes his death warrant. Saved by Kundo’s men, he joins them reborning as the warrior Dochi. Because of the increasing social injustice, for him and the rest of the bandits, is time to face Jo-yoon, the most dangerous enemy.
YOON JONG-BIN 윤종빈
A 25 anni si laurea alla Chung-Ang University con “The Unforgiven” (2005), pluripremiato film a basso budget, selezionato dal Busan International Film Festival e dal Festival di Cannes per la sezione Un Certain Regard. Dopo altri due successi come “The Moonlight of Seoul” e “Nameless Gangster”, Yoon sposta la sua attenzione su un film storico d’azione: “Kundo: Age of the Rampant”, blockbuster su una banda di fuorilegge esistita fino alla colonizzazione giapponese. Anche per quest’utimo, come per i film precedenti, il regista recluta l’attore Ha Jung-woo.
At the age of 25, Yoon Jong-bin degrees at Chung-Ang University with “The Unforgiven” (2005), a well award winning low budget movie invited to Busan International Film Festival and to Cannes Film Festival Un Certain Regard section. After other two success such as “The Moonlight of Seoul” e “Nameless Gangster”, Yoon shifts his focus on a historic action drama:”Kundo: Age of the Rampant”, blockbuster on a a band of outlaws existed until Japanese colonization. Also for this last one, like for his previous movies, the filmmaker chooses the actor Ha Jung-woo.
